THE XXXVII RALLYE ELBA STORICO – TROFEO LOCMAN ITALY HITS RECORD NUMBERS: 153 ENTRIES AND 10 FOREIGN NATIONALITIES ON THE START LINE

The event, scheduled for September 25–27, has once again met expectations, confirming itself as a highly sought-after competition with a truly international reach.
A new chapter in sporting history is about to be written, continuing the tradition.
Great anticipation also surrounds the September 24 conference in Capoliveri, which combines history and sport with a single common thread: the island of Elba.

Livorno, September 16, 2025 – With entries now closed, the XXXVII Rallye Elba Storico – Trofeo Locman Italy moves on to the numbers. The verdict: 153 entrants.

Running from September 24 to 27, the rally marks round eight of the ten-event FIA European Historic Rally Championship and round seven (the penultimate) of the Italian Historic Rally Championship, as well as the national “regularity at average speed” event with the “Graffiti”. With this impressive three-digit figure, the rally once again confirms itself as one of the most eagerly awaited events of the season. It is a tradition honored and a message of renewed confidence for the island, which was recently hit hard by severe weather.

The Island of Elba is ready to host another outstanding edition of the most prestigious historic rally in Europe and beyond, featuring 26 entries for the continental series, 74 for the Italian Championship, 23 A112 Trophy cars, and one “classic” car. These will be joined by 20 crews in the “Graffiti”, meaning that in just over a week the “pearl” of the Tuscan Archipelago will be taken over by the top competitors of each series.
A significant achievement is also represented by the presence of competitors from 10 foreign nations: Austria, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Poland, Monaco, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Hungary. This confirms once again the event’s ability to promote Elba not only as a sporting venue but also as a prime destination for experiential tourism with strong international appeal. As tradition dictates, the rally serves a dual purpose: to promote motorsport and at the same time extend the tourist season, offering drivers, teams, and fans the chance to enjoy Elba’s beauty in the mild early autumn climate.

To further strengthen the bond between sport and territory promotion, the 2025 route introduces new features in both itinerary and schedule, with the aim of providing fresh excitement for competitors and spectators alike, while showcasing the island in the best possible way.

The satisfaction of ACI Livorno, which organizes the event on behalf of the Automobile Club Livorno, is expressed by its president Luciano Fiori:
“Seeing 153 crews entered for the Rallye Elba Storico fills us with joy and pride. It proves that this rally holds a special place in the hearts of competitors, with a unique character that blends sport, passion, and the extraordinary beauty of our island. The Rallye is not just about competition: it’s about meeting, friendship, and emotion. It is the finest way to showcase Elba to the world, through its roads, landscapes, and the warmth of its people. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible: drivers, teams, institutions, volunteers, officials, the Elban community, and all those who in various ways contribute to the success of the rally, always in memory of Elio Niccolai and little Anna, whom we remember every year. Together, we are writing another page of history that will remain in everyone’s hearts.”

A route shaped by tradition
The XXXVII edition offers a format slightly revised in some aspects but faithful to its roots, promising once again a thrilling, enjoyable, and highly technical challenge. Ten special stages will be spread across three days of competition: the first leg in Capoliveri, the second in the western area, and the third in the eastern part of the island. A balanced mix of technicality and spectacle, designed not to disrupt Elban daily life.
The total route covers 366.960 km, of which 133.580 km are timed, ensuring another edition destined to write a new chapter in the legendary history of this rally.

The September 24 conference in Capoliveri
Not to be forgotten is the key event in Capoliveri on September 24. At 11:00 a.m., the Flamingo Theatre will host the conference “Past and Present in the Footsteps of Napoleon”, organized in collaboration with the newspaper Il Tirreno. The event will explore the profound ties between the Island of Elba, Napoleon Bonaparte, and the rally’s sporting tradition. This will be the third such initiative, following last September’s and the spring “modern” rally, combining sporting action with reflection, where memory becomes a driver of collective identity and social cohesion.
The conference will feature the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, together with ACI Livorno president Marco Fiorillo, ACI Livorno Sport president Luciano Fiori, the mayors of Capoliveri and Portoferraio, Walter Montagna and Tiziano Nocentini, and historian Professor Giovanni Cipriani.
