The XXIX Rallye Elba Storico-Trofeo Locman Italy reveals its characters
The race, from September 21 to 23, is a true identity for the whole island, even for this year will have the highest European and Italian specialty titling, proposing a path that comes from the tradition with the addition of some variants Compared to the previous edition.
Also scheduled is the "sport regularity", an indispensable appointment for disciplinary experts.
The path is offered with 10 Special Stages, designed for agonism, conceived to make the island live better to its competitors and not to be too invasive in the territory and with normal daily life.
21, 22 and 23 September. A date that many enthusiasts motorfans have long been in the agenda. It is the one that will stage the XXIX Rallye Elba Storico, a constant year after year for the post-vacancy, the classic location at the end of the summer perfect to favor the lengthening of the tourist season on the largest island in the Tuscan archipelago, to enjoy the sensations of a unique territory and to "feel" passion and history. A sporting history among the most exciting in the world.
Valid as the seventh rally of the European Rally Championship and the penultimate of the Italian Championship, it includes the opportunity to play the "Regularity Sport" competition. There will also be valid for the Trophy A112 Abarth, for the Trofeo Michelin and for the Fornaca Memory.
The classic, indispensable, rendezvous proposed by ACI Livorno Sport - organizer and promoter of the ACI Livorno mandate event - is therefore preparing to renew the challenges with the stopwatch presenting itself on the Italian and international scene with a partially revised dress, of course inspired by the tradition of an event that every year knows a unique edition.
THE HEART OF THE RACE WILL BE TAKEN TO CAPOLIVERI
With the broad consensus gained since 2011, when general logistics moved to Capoliveri, ACI Livorno Sport has drawn the 2017 edition, ready to consolidate the high quality offered in past editions.
Last year, thirteen were the nations represented by race crews and over 8,000 units around the registered movement of the present with various roles at the event last year.
Nothing has changed compared to the previous four editions with regard to Rallye logistics: the Headquarters of the event is confirmed at Capoliveri at the functional and exclusive facilities of Hotel Elba International, exclusive location overlooking the Gulf of Porto Azzurro, where will be organized the Race Direction, the Secretariat and the Press Room.
THE PATH: ARRIVES FROM TRADITION WITH SOME CHANGES
Competition, exciting duels with the cars that have made the story of road racing and also culture. History of the automotive industry. These were always the inspirations of the race for which, this year, it has worked with passion to make it even more exciting and fascinating.
In fact, for this rally, ACI Livorno Sport has again scheduled three days of challenges, with a total of 10 Special Stages (136,900 Competitive miles, that is, 33.47% of the total distance that is 446.580). They are "historical" trails, which have seen in more than one fascinating sporting event.
Much changes have been made to comply with international standards, especially with regard to the tests to be carried out in the dark, but in any case going to the maximum allowed mileage, just to make the challenge as Usually passionate and full of impressive sports technical ideas. Security is an indispensable topic, the organization has always shown great sensitivity to the theme and again this year reconfirms this factor at the highest levels.
A revamped look, though, but not too much, will surely be appreciated by those who will run, who will have a Rally ready to convey those vibrant feelings that only a competition on the Elban roads can be "felt".
THE RACE PROGRAM
It will start in the evening of Thursday, September 21st: from 19.00, competitors will descend from the ramp in Piazza Matteotti to Capoliveri and will immediately be measured with two SS on the "Due Colli" (12,290 km) and "Capoliveri" (Km 7,800), in the classic circuit in the town. Then, the crews will enter the night regroupment from 22.00.
The second day of the race, Friday 22 September, which will resume at 08.30, provides for four more Stages, with a final day at 16.00, always in Capoliveri.
The next day, on Saturday, September 23, the big final, with four more SS: the challenges will start at 08.30 and the checkered flag, always in Capoliveri, will flutter from 14.00.
The timetables of each end stage have been studied for this edition in order to make life more and more to the competitors of the island of Elba and its beauties, combining in a concrete way sport and tourism, exploiting the pleasant - and still long - days september.
