PRESS INFORMATION

XXXVII RALLYE ELBA STORICO–TROFEO LOCMAN ITALY: ON SEPTEMBER 24, IN CAPOLIVERI, THE CONFERENCE “PASSATO E PRESENTE SULLE ORME DI NAPOLEONE" (“PAST AND PRESENT IN NAPOLEON’S FOOTSTEPS”)

The event, scheduled for September 25, 26 and 27, will be preceded by the third conference organized on the island in conjunction with the motorsport festival, focusing on history and sport and their impact on local tourism.
The continental and Italian challenges for historic cars will be contested over three legs, with the “Graffiti” regularity section confirmed and the addition of “Classic Cars” as permitted by the new international regulations.
Entries are open until September 10, while on Wednesday, September 3, the official press conference will take place at the headquarters of the daily newspaper Il Tirreno in Livorno.

Livorno, August 22, 2025 – The organizational machine of ACI Livorno Sport is in full swing for the XXXVII Rallye Elba Storico–Trofeo Locman Italy, scheduled for September 25–27. It is a multi-front effort aimed at once again giving the event the value it deserves, strengthening its deep connection with the island, a bond steeped in passion and history.

The event, structured over three legs, will be the eighth round (out of ten) of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship and the seventh (penultimate) round of the Italian Historic Rally Championship. Entries remain officially open until September 10 for the Italian race and the “Graffiti” regularity event. The rally also counts for several promotional series: the A112 Abarth Trophy, the Memory Fornaca, the Michelin Historic Rally Cup, and the ACI Livorno Club Championship.

This classic late-summer event, proposed by ACI Livorno Sport, has now entered its most intense organizational phase. Meanwhile, the presentation date has been set: Wednesday, September 3, at 11:00, in the auditorium of Il Tirreno’s historic headquarters in Viale Alfieri, Livorno—one of the city’s landmarks. Always close to the island’s events, Il Tirreno has consistently supported the Rallye Elba, reporting on it with passion as a symbol not only of the island but of road rallying at both national and international levels. Cristiano Marcacci, the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, will moderate the event.

THE THIRD CONFERENCE: SPORT, HISTORY AND TERRITORY UNITED

Capoliveri will host, on September 24 at 11:00 at the Teatro Flamingo, the conference “Past and Present in Napoleon’s Footsteps”. Promoted in collaboration with Il Tirreno, the event aims to explore the deep bond between Elba Island, the figure of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the rally’s sporting tradition.
This is the third such initiative, following last year’s edition in September and the spring “modern” rally, combining motorsport with cultural reflection. This year it connects past and present, making memory a driver of collective identity and social cohesion.

Once again, the President of Tuscany, Eugenio Giani, will attend, highlighting the rally’s potential as a vehicle for territorial promotion. Other speakers will include Marco Fiorillo (President of ACI Livorno), Luciano Fiori (President of ACI Livorno Sport), Walter Montagna (Mayor of Capoliveri), Tiziano Nocentini (Mayor of Portoferraio), and Professor Giovanni Cipriani (historian). Cristiano Marcacci (Il Tirreno) will moderate.

The aim is to promote Elba’s cultural identity by strengthening the link between sport and local development, transforming the island into an international stage through its villages, landscapes and iconic rally routes. The conference will focus on:

The role of Napoleon’s exile in Elba’s social and cultural evolution;

How Rallye Elba Storico promotes tradition, tourism and territorial cohesion;

A direct call to the Elban community and visitors to reflect on the importance of preserving historical memory through culture and sport.

“GRAFFITI” CONFIRMED, CLASSIC CARS ARRIVE

Always international in scope, the rally will this year be enriched by the introduction of “Classic Cars,” as per new FIA regulations allowing cars built between 1991 and 2000 to compete in historic events. This will further enhance competition, spectacle, and technical diversity.
Also returning is the “Graffiti” regularity rally, an unmissable event for enthusiasts of the discipline, which has always found fertile ground on the island.

THREE LEGS, TEN STAGES, TIMELESS CHARM

The program features three legs for a total of 10 special stages: 133.38 km timed, over an overall route of 366.96 km.
Should a crew retire in the opening Capoliveri stage, they may re-join the following day.

The route is designed in harmony with the island’s daily life:

Leg 1 in Capoliveri,

Leg 2 in the western area,

Leg 3 in the eastern part.

A balance of technical challenge and spectacle, while minimizing disruption to island life.
Last year, overall victory went to Sicilian driver Angelo Lombardo, co-driven by Roberto Consiglio, in a Porsche 911 RS.
